“We booked this stay away for our ‘Girls weekend’ a year ago, wanting somewhere where we could batten down the hatches and not leave the site if the weather turned on us. I wanted a hot tub to just wallow in and really relax. Tower Wood Cottage ticked every box. Quirky decor but very homely and there was plenty of space for the four adults. The garden/meadow/wood area that took you down to the edge of Windermere was so peaceful and serene, it was beautiful.”

“Hands down one of the best places we have ever stayed! Mark and Ruth’s cottage is beautifully situated right on the shores of lake Windermere, with an amazing walk through forest to get there from the house. The cottage is picturesque with simple touches of history and family charm. We loved every second of our short stay here and would happily do it again. The best parts were by far mark and Ruth themselves who are the loveliest of people. Ruth leaving little toys for our son to play with, and make sure you check out her amazing marble run in the forest. And their homemade damson jam was to die for! Thanks again guys for the best stay, see you again soon x”

“The cottage is in the most beautiful location, 30 seconds from the cottage is the lake which is perfect for sunsets. We had 3 kids with us (10, 11, 16) and they loved every moment of the outdoors, the lake, paddle boarding, looking for treasure. It’s a perfect and no pictures can do it justice. Mark and Ruth were amazing hosts. Ruth left little treats for our kids by the cottage or the lake”
