Yes, we swim most days without any issues but we would advise you not to drink the lake water. We know that sadly the lake has been in the news for the wrong reasons, so keep an eye on latest developments. http://www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/visiting/thingstodo/water/swimming
Yes. You may see some Grouse, Pheasants, Rabbits, Ducks, Squirrels, Swans, an impressive variety of Bird species, occasionally a Peacock or Heron (we once saw an Otter) and if you’re lucky a couple of beautiful Roe Deers.
None of these animals should pose a threat but we would advise not to walk in long grass in case of Ticks which we cannot be held responsible for.
Our favourite and recommended pubs are “The Masons Arms” and “The Farmer’s Arms” both are a 25 minute drive away. There are plenty more pubs in Bowness/Windermere.
Yes. Most supermarkets will deliver to the cottage but there are no local take away deliveries.
This is the best lake district weather site (bring clothes for all seasons!)
Yes absolutely. We have an outdoor wood fired barrel sauna and a large hot tub that is available on request. Facial massages for women are also available as well as art classes for adults and children. Please contact us for more info.
Bowness is the nearest town (15 min drive) and has a plenty to offer.
Unfortunately no, but we do have a small onsite tuck shop and we can make you the most fantastic coffee on request!
