This marked the first careful revival of a once graceful but long neglected 18th century Grade II listed stone cottage, quietly nestled near the shores of Lake Windermere. Shaped by time, weather, and generations past, the cottage had fallen into a state of gentle decay, its stone walls bearing the marks of centuries of Lakeland life. What followed was a labour of love, guided by respect for its history and a determination to preserve its enduring character.
Countless hours of thoughtful restoration and skilled craftsmanship went into transforming the building once more into a warm, livable home, faithful to the traditions of the region. Original features were cherished, materials were chosen with care, and modern comforts were introduced discreetly, ensuring the spirit of the cottage remained intact.
Dating back to around 1750, the cottage still rests upon its original foundations; a remarkable survival and a quiet testament to the many lives it has sheltered. Standing today as a restored Lakeland cottage, it bridges past and present, offering a renewed future while honouring the centuries of history held within its walls.
